Tier 1 Australian Bank Selects ElysianNxt to Strengthen Enterprise-Wide Credit Risk Stress Testing

BRUSSELS, September 28, 2026 — ElysianNxt, a provider of integrated risk management technology for banks and financial institutions, today announced that a Tier 1 bank in Australia has selected its .NXT Platform to strengthen enterprise-wide credit risk stress testing. The engagement moves the bank from fragmented stress testing toward a single, real-time platform, closing the data reconciliation gap between stress testing and regulatory capital reporting and giving risk teams same-day, decision-ready insights.

The move reflects a wider shift across Australia, Asia-Pacific and Europe. Stress testing is no longer a periodic compliance exercise. It is becoming a continuous risk management discipline that must support internal (e.g. ICAAP) as well as supervisory stress testing (e.g. IWST) today and absorb new scenario types tomorrow.

Meeting that shift operationally means centralizing credit stress testing onto a single platform, across jurisdictions, portfolios, and domains, rather than running it as a patchwork of portfolio-level tools bolted together at reporting time.

The bank’s requirements were demanding:

  • It needed economic stress applied at individual account level, not top-down overlays on whole portfolios.
  • Stressed ECL and RWA projections had to follow exactly the same methodology as its baseline (T0) calculations. That calls for proven, out-of-the-box regulatory calculators, not a custom build.
  • It wanted dynamic balance sheet modelling that captures how its own business strategy responds under stress.
  • It needed the compute power to run all of this across millions of contracts.
  • It wanted the freedom to plug its proprietary models into the same framework, without a new development cycle every time methodology changes.

ElysianNxt’s .NXT Platform was selected because its architecture addresses these requirements by design. Built on cloud-native microservices with Kafka-based streaming, the platform runs credit risk stress testing and regulatory reporting on one data foundation (Data.NXT), so the two processes start from the same numbers rather than being reconciled after the fact. IFRS9.NXT and Basel.NXT cover standard regulatory calculations out of the box, while ElysianNxt’s advanced Model Hosting and Execution runs the bank’s own proprietary credit risk models natively in the same framework, without a custom build cycle every time methodology changes. With serverless, elastic compute, scenarios that once required days now return results fast enough for stress testing to function as an everyday risk management tool rather than a periodic regulatory exercise.

Piet Mandeville, Director Risk and Professional Services at ElysianNxt, commented:

“We’re proud the Tier 1 Australian bank chose ElysianNxt to solve a problem every risk team recognizes: stress testing that can’t keep pace with macroeconomic and geopolitical shifts because it’s stitched together across multiple disconnected credit risk platforms. That’s exactly what we deliver — one platform where credit risk stress testing and regulatory credit risk calculations run on the same data, so results are consistent by design and ready to extend to whatever comes next, whether that’s a new credit scenario or a climate risk requirement.”

The engagement extends ElysianNxt’s presence among banks across Australia, Asia, and Europe, where regulators are converging on the same expectation: stress testing capable of running at the speed and granularity that both credit risk and emerging climate risk scenarios demand. For the bank, stress testing is no longer a separate exercise bolted onto quarter-end reporting. It will be running on the same integrated platform as the bank’s credit risk regulatory processes, giving risk and finance teams one consistent view of capital adequacy under stress rather than reconciling separate outputs from separate systems.
